AWANA Is for Children (and Parents!)
“AWANA is a great strategy for teaching God’s Word and encouraging Scripture memorization,” says Rob Banger, describing the Wednesday children’s program at First Baptist Church. He’s in his sixth year leading the outreach and discipleship program, run by adult volunteers who help with games, activities, Bible lessons, and small groups. The men of First Baptist Church and their guests enjoyed our summer cookout on July 26th.
Summertime means grillin’ out, and men don’t need another reason than food to get together. On July 26th about 15 men and boys from First Baptist gathered for a men’s cookout in the church parking lot. The event was designed for guys to just hang out, relax in lawnchairs, eat, and get to know each other better. No program, just food and conversation. Men’s Ministry Coordinator, Matthew McKee brought the brats, burgers, and hot dogs. The men were asked to bring a side dish and chip in $3 to cover the meat and drinks, which were leftover from the VBS closing program
